OrCam in the Community - OrCam

OrCam is committed to being active in the community. We like to engage with our community members face to face and be a part of their journey.  Whether it is presenting the OrCam MyEye assistive technology device to an audience or providing one-on-one demonstrations, the OrCam team is dedicated to creating personal connections and making people feel part of the OrCam Family.

With just a few months into 2016, OrCam has started the year off with a bang! We have traveled the world exhibiting the OrCam MyEye at various conferences and tradeshows, spreading the word to make a difference in the lives of people in the blind and visually impaired community.

Our first event of the year was the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.  With tens of thousands of attendees, we gave many demonstrations of the OrCam MyEye.

We then packed our bags and headed to Orlando, Florida for the Assistive Technology Industry Association 2016 Conference. The conference showcased the best and brightest in assistive technology tools and services, and OrCam was proud to take part in this event. Away from the Florida heat, our UK office was a part of their first big event:  100% OPTICAL in London. This international optical trade conference allowed us to teach people about the OrCam MyEye and speak to professionals in the field.

With no time to rest, we continued our journey to the U.S. capital of Washington, DC for The American Foundation for the Blind Annual Leadership Conference. This event covered relevant topics in the field of blindness and allowed us to offer people the opportunity to learn and try out the OrCam MyEye.

The British Dyslexia Association 10th International Conference in Oxford allowed us to introduce the OrCam MyReader to people in the dyslexic community and explain how the OrCam MyReader can help them read and regain their independence.

With spring in the air, we headed out to sunny San Diego for the 31st Annual International Technology and Persons with Disabilities Conference. We gave dozens of OrCam MyEye demos and presented the OrCam MyEye to the attendees.

We went across the border to Canada where Frank Hackett, our new Canadian Sales Manager, hosted a series of OrCam demos in cities across the country.

Meanwhile, across the ocean in Israel, we attended our first Israeli event after launching the OrCam MyEye in its newest language – Hebrew. The event was attended by many organizations that are looking for new ways to make the country more accessible to people with disabilities. The OrCam MyEye really caught the organizations’ attention.

It has been a busy couple of months but we are just getting started. We hope to exhibit the OrCam MyEye in as many places as we can so that we can spread the word and help more people regain their independence! We are going to be in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Montreal, and Vancouver in the coming days.  If you are going to be there, let us know. We would love to set up an appointment and meet you face-to-face!
